Don't Let Go (The Invisibles #1) by Michelle Lynn
Book Description
Sadie Miller is attempting to change her ways and hide somewhere no one knows her former self. She only wants to finish her final year of college, obtain her degree, and get out from the hold of her affluent parents. Then she meets Brady Carsen, the lead singer of The Invisibles, a popular local band in the college town. She tries to stay away but quickly realizes that, although he might not be what she's used to, he's exactly what she needs and more importantly, everything she could possibly want.
Unfortunately, Sadie's troubled past left her with insecurities that make her question Brady's true intentions. And while Brady is convinced that Sadie is the one for him, he has his own secrets that he fears will be their undoing. If they want to be together, they will have to stand united and fight the outside influences that are threatening to tear them apart. Can they put their pasts behind them for good in order to secure their future?
Reading Grove Review
This is a book about letting go of your past and learning to trust again. Sadie and Brady both have things that have happened in their pasts that effect and make them who they are. They are both afraid of what the other will feel once they find out but ultimately learn to trust each other and stand strong with one another.
I loved the relationship between Sadie and Brady. They are both so different from each other. Sadie being the rich girl and Brady being the rocker boy with a Mohawk. Despite their differences they are just so drawn to each other that neither can stay away even though they both try. They both care so much about each and fight for each other. Brady helps Sadie fight her past and Sadie helps Brady fight his present.
The other great thing about this book is the secondary characters. Jessa, Sadie's roommate, is a great friend. Once Sadie tells her of her past she is there to help her and she roots her and Brady on from the beginning. In the end I really liked Sadie's mom and Grandma Ida is amazing. Any grandma that calls her granddaughter's boyfriend "hot stuff" is great. Grant, who is friends with both Sadie and Brady is truely a great friend to both, protecting Sadie when Brady couldn't. I also liked the other band members of The Invisibles. They were an interesting crew and made great friends.
I can't wait to read the second book Let Me In, which I will be doing sooner than later.
Hello
I just wanted to say hello to everyone. This is my little reading grove and I'll be posting the books that I have read and what I thought about them. I'm always up for suggestions. I've never had a blog before so I'm just going for it.
